1. The church didn't conduct witch hunts
The witch hunts were not a medieval craze, the witch hunts actually occurred later in the 16th and 17th centuries. There were a few witch hunts in the medieval era but they were conducted by civic authorities not the church.
2. The english were multilingual
In Medieval Europe, the English not only spoke English but also French, Latin and Hebrew. Different languages were used for different situations, such as Hebrew and Latin were the language for religion and French was used for law.
3. People did bathe
As a sign that you were civilised cleanliness and hygiene were at the top. In fact, major towns and private houses boasted public and private baths.

In the Middle Ages, the minority believed that the Earth was flat. Whereas the majority believed the earth was round and they knew about the Antipodes (the point at any place on the earth's surface that is diametrically opposite it).
