Peasant Diet
While the Kings and Nobles food looked and tasted appetising, the peasant diet was quite the opposite. The peasants mainly ate grains like wheat, rye, oats or barley, which was made into a soup or stew or ground into flour to make bread or brewed into ale. Fish was also available but wasn't eaten much and protein was acquired by eating beans, peas or lentils.
